INTERSTATE WORLDWIDE RELOCATION SERVICES LENDS A HAND TO THE SALVATION ARMY
SPRINGFIELD, VA, March 19, 2012 – Interstate Worldwide Relocation Services is pleased to announce that the Salvation Army recognized Interstate for its role in the Salvation Army Angel Giving Tree program. Interstate was one of many well-known companies recognized for its support at the Salvation Army's annual awards show held on February 23, 2012.
For the last 10 years, Interstate has lent its facilities to the Salvation Army during the holidays, where volunteers stuff stockings with gifts from various organizations, and make angels for the Salvation Army's angel trees. Additionally, Interstate provides trucks and drivers to take the stockings and the tree angels to Salvation Army Headquarters in downtown Washington, DC.
"Working with the Salvation Army is so inspiring," says Ken Morrissette, President of Interstate Service Group, and board member of the Salvation Army's National Chapter. "We're able to touch so many people's lives, and give back to the community, which is what our company is all about."
Interstate would like to thank its employees for helping with the Angel Giving Tree program, especially Assistant dispatcher Laura Gomez, and Terminal Operations Managers Andrew Spriggs and Kris Edney.
"Laura, Andrew, and Kris really go the extra mile to coordinate this effort and make sure the stockings and tree angels arrive at the Salvation Army safe and sound," says Morrissette. Supporting the Salvation Army is just one of the many ways in which Interstate Worldwide Relocation Services helps those in need. Interstate will continue to work with the Salvation Army in 2012 and beyond.
