INTERSTATE WORLDWIDE RELOCATION SERVICES RECEIVES IOMI CERTIFICATION FOR OFFICE MOVING
SPRINGFIELD, VA, June 21, 2012 – Interstate Worldwide Relocation Services is pleased to announce that it recently received certification from the International Office Moving Institute (IOMI). The intensive instruction course was conducted at Interstate’s Top Hat University training facilities, where nearly 100 associates and team members were guided through the best practices for commercial office moving, project management methods, as well as business logistics processes for commercial organizations of all sizes and types.
“The training will help us continue to deliver excellence to the commercial market,” says Arthur E. (Bud) Morrissette, IV, president of Interstate. “Our administrative and operations teams honed their logistics skills and procedures for handling everything from office furnishings and equipment, to information technology equipment and more. The teams also boosted their knowledge on how to best protect office workspaces and facilities using methods that will help minimize the risk of damage and reduce downtime for our clients,” adds Morrissette.
The certification is a testament to Interstate’s commitment to utilizing the industry’s leading practices. Annually, Interstate facilitates in the relocation of more than $800 million of office furniture, equipment and more, throughout the country. Most recently, Interstate expedited the largest medical healthcare facility relocation to date, a 24-month process involving the move of Walter Reed Army Medical Center to its two new homes in Bethesda, MD and Fort Belvoir, VA. Despite construction delays, Interstate was still able to meet the rigorous deadlines—ensuring that an estimated $400 million worth of medical and IT equipment, hospital furnishings and more was safely moved in order for the new facilities could open on time.
