(Springfield, VA) As further testament to its growing international prowess and stature, Ambassador International, Inc. qualified as a Registered International Mover (RIM) as awarded by the international component of the American Moving and Storage Association (AMSA), the preeminent moving industry association in the United States. Ambassador's Jean Panza, an industry veteran with many years in the industry having handled several thousand moves, also received individual certification, further adding to the professional status of Ambassador's team.
Ambassador International serves as the D.C. area service provider and close trading partner in the international marketplace for Interstate Worldwide Relocation. Interstate also met the requirements to receive RIM certification. Interstate team member Lisa Mensch Herbig, Manager of Interstate International, Inc., successfully completed the requisite testing to be designated as a RIM-certified mover. Herbig, an Interstate employee for eight years, currently oversees Interstate's entire International division.
The AMSA established the RIM certification to provide customers of international household goods relocations services with a standardized, independent means of differentiating and selecting qualified moving companies operating anywhere in the world; to establish universal industry standards while raising the overall level of professionalism and performance of international moving companies and their personnel; and to identify a core body of knowledge, procedures, documents and skills embodied in training and measured in certification programs, which reduce the number of service failures, improve customer satisfaction and elevate the consistency of quality service of certified companies and individuals.
To receive RIM certification, Ambassador was required to:
- Demonstrate a high and measurable level of international expertise -- both as a local moving and storage company and an international door-to-door moving company.
- Have a proven track record of at least three (3) years of successful experience in providing international household good's (HHG) relocation services.
- Meet RIM standards for equipment to handle international HHG's moves, verified by an on-site inspection authorized by RIM.
- Be re-certified every three years by achieving RIM-designated continuing education and training.
- Be re-inspected every three years.
- Have a majority of Interstate staff meet individual RIM certification, including at a minimum one surveyor, one international coordinator and three international packers/crew members.
RIM certification is available only to qualified moving and storage companies. Van lines, forwarding companies, relocation companies and corporate/government accounts are not eligible for RIM certification. Only RIM-certified moving and storage companies may use the designation, "REGISTERED INTERNATIONAL MOVER," an internationally recognized standard of professionalism.
Ambassador International is a service provider of the Interstate family of companies that was established in 1943 and that today comprises a worldwide group of relocation management, transportation and logistic entities. For more than half a century, the Interstate team has been learning and building on its reputation for providing "Top Hat Service." The experience and attention to details led to the entire group of companies being designated as ISO 9002 certified in August 2000.
