(Springfield, VA) On February 22, 2003 the Board of Directors of the Pan American International Movers Association (PAIMA) granted Interstate International, Inc. admission into the association.
Interstate International is an ISO and FAIM-certified, full-service global relocation firm headquartered in the Washington, DC metropolitan area. Now celebrating 60 years of service, Interstate together with its affiliated companies successfully facilitates the relocations of more than 20,000 families annually - domestically and globally. Interstate is a member of the Latin American Moving Association (LACMA), and is an Accredited International Mover for the Federation of International Movers (FIDI), the most prestigious and quality conscious association of international moving companies.
PAIMA, founded in 1985, is a group of international moving companies who represent its mutual interests when dealing with local, national or international authorities, in addition to promoting public relations. With headquarters in Panama, PAIMA's active members are truly 'pan-American,' stretching from Chile and Argentina at the southern extreme of South America, through Central America and the United States, to Toronto, Canada. PAIMA represents an important commercial and philosophical link among companies committed to maintaining "the highest ethical standards and professionalism of its members." It is a requirement of all members to be certified by an internationally recognized body such as ISO, FAIM, or RIM within three years of admission. In April 2002, Interstate Worldwide Relocation was admitted into FIDI and received its FAIM certification.
Established in 1943 and headquartered in the Washington, DC metropolitan area, the Interstate family of companies today comprises a worldwide group of relocation management, transportation and logistic entities. For sixty years, the Interstate team has been learning and building on its reputation for providing "Top Hat Service." The experience and attention to details led to Interstate being designated as ISO certified for all entities and facilities in August 2000, an accomplishment achieved by less than one percent of companies within its industry.
