Throughout the year, Interstate representatives have visited agents and TMOs all over the country. To date, the members of our tireless traveling team have made 24 field trips this year, with at least four more trips planned through the first week of November. We have
already exceeded last year’s total of 23 field trips, with two and a half months still to go!
Why do we do this? The answer lies in the fact that we care. Visiting TMOs allows us to acquaint them with our new programs, such as T-Trac and E-Trac, as well as discuss any issues they may have with our service and accept any suggestions they offer. In addition,
taking the time to meet with a TMO gives us the opportunity to demonstrate that we are
committed to providing only the best service and to maintain our position as a favored
carrier for the military. Visiting our current agents is equally important, enabling us to
review their performance and discuss any issues that may have developed, in addition to
seeing first-hand how each agent runs their business.
When John Shelor, Interstate’s Traffic Manager, visited Fort Drum, NY in September, he was told that we were the first carrier to ever take the time to visit them. By visiting the TMO, we showed that we care about the service provided to their military shippers.
Below is a map showing the field trips we have taken so far this year:
