(Springfield, VA) Interstate Worldwide Relocation distributed toys to children in the Barry Farm community of Southeast, D.C. on December 24, 2004. Interstate, working with the Barry Farm Resident Council and the U.S. Marines Corps Reserve’s Toys for Tots program, has provided holiday gifts to families in Barry Farm for 14 years.
Early Christmas Eve morning, a team of Interstate staff headed down to Washington, D.C., dressed up as Santa and his elves. Going door-to-door volunteers distributed Christmas toys to over 500 underprivileged children. Santa woke the children in the neighborhood with his loud and distinct “Ho Ho Ho’s.” The kids ripped open the presents and began playing with all their new toys!
“Seeing the smiles on their faces and the joy in their hearts makes this more than a worthwhile project,” says Interstate driver Preston Charles who dressed up as Santa. “This is the ninth year I have participated as Santa, and it’s something I truly look forward to each and every year.”
“I was born and raised in this community many years ago, and being able to give back is tremendously satisfying for my family and I,” announced Interstate President Buddy Morrissette at the conclusion of the morning’s events.
Interstate Worldwide Relocation is a full-service relocation and transportation management company. Founded by Arthur E.
